Applications are invited for a research studentship in the broad areas of cyber physical systems, sensing, privacy and applied machine learning leading to the award of a PhD degree and starting in October 2022 or soon after. This studentships are part of the newly-funded EPSRC Open Fellowship (Plus) 2022-2027 with a funding of around £2m from the UKRI, the industry, and Imperial College London.

* Research Area: The studentship is in the general area of privacy-preserving analytics, sensing, and machine-earning in resource-constrained edge devices (see the fellowship details). * Funding: The studentships are supported by full fees and stipend (at the UK/International student rates).

* Research environment: You will Join the Systems and Algorithms Laboratory (SysAl), in the newly refurbished facilities of the Dyson School of Design Engineering (http://www.imperial.ac.uk/design-engineering/). You will also be part of the Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Research have extensive interactions with research collaborators from industry labs and research institutions across the world.

* Required skills: We are seeking candidates with a First Class (Distinction)Degree or equivalent at Masters' level in **Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, or a related subject. Strong quantitative research skills and familiarity with advanced systems programming (mobile, TEEs, IoT, sensor boards) and advanced data analysis skills are essential.**A passion for user-centred systems (privacy, inclusion, legibility) with ML models, demonstrated by extra-curricular activities or industrial experience, is desirable. Good team-working and communication skills are essential.
